| 2004 (preliminary program) INDOOR ATHLETICS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 5th March - 7th March in the Budapest Sport Arena. Association: Hungarian Athletics Association. BUDAPEST SPRING FESTIVAL 19th of March - 4th April Music parade offering a glimpse of the city's cultural diversity. The festival is a real melting pot of different cultural styles. DANCE WORLD FESTIVAL 21th April - 29th April National Dance Theatre in the Castle. INTERNATIONAL DANUBE CARNIVAL 11th of June - 22th of June The framework event for the music and dance presentations, held by different settlements alongside the river Danube. Duna palace, Vajdahunyad Castle, Vörösmarty square, Margaret Island and other venues DANUBE FESTIVAL 19th June - 21th June One of Europe’s greatest water events will be organised in Budapest, on the one-and-a- half kilometre section of river Danube between Margaret Bridge and Chain Bridge on these two summer days. Different programmes, sports events – rowing, kayak, canoe and motor boat competitions – will await spectators during the whole day. Besides these events, hand-driven and motor boat processions will be organised both in the morning and in the evening. Burning candles will be floated down on the river and Midsummer Night’s fireworks will be presented in the closing event. BUDAPEST FAREVELL 26th June - 27th June Masquerade parades, fancy-dress competition, pop concerts and street ball. Real carnival spirit takes over the city |
